Most of the first half of book 3, Blood Witch, focus on teenage relationships and who is "cheating" on, breaking up with, or forming a new relationship with whom. Two competing covens vie for members and girls use sexual attraction to entice members away from the other coven. Our heroine, Morgan, continues her love for BF Cal. I found all the first half of this book boring, but perhaps younger female readers will appreciate it more.

The last part of Blood Witch moves on. Allusions are made to generational witch wars, dark magic, and a mysterious "dark wave" that killed Morgan's family and her ancestral home village. Finally a "seeker" from the "Witch Council" attacks BF, Cal. With Morgan's help he is pushed off a high cliff into an ice laden Hudson River. The long running fight to the death between witch factions has just gotten real and personal. I was reminded of the Hatfields and McCoys feud. Morgan, and we readers are given many more questions than answers about who is good and who is bad, who is telling her the truth, and who is lying, and how deep does the rabbit hole really go.

Perhsps its better for young readers, but it seems to me that this series is broken up into 2 or 3 times as many volumes as needed.

Love all the books by this author! If you like paranormal books this is a great book for you to read
I'm really enjoying the series, though I do wish the individual books were a little longer, covering a bit more of the story.
I love this series. You can pick up any book in the series and not be lost. I started with book 6 by mistake.
Blood Witch is the third book in a series about those who practice Wicca. In this book Megan is still learn what it means to be a blood witch and also dealing with the fact that she was adopted and was never told about it.
I love, love, love this series. I have the whole set and wouldn't part with it for anything. I have read it several times now. It is so original and sometimes funny and heart rendering. Thanks to Cate Tiernan for writing stories you want to read. Also, thanks for writing ORIGINAL storylinesthat I really look forward to the next installment of.
The sweep series is slowly growing on me. This book is not overly repetitious like some series' I have read. We are introduced to more characters. I gave this book three stars because I feel like the author is dragging this story out. There were several moments that seemed like filler (I think sweep 2 was completely filler). I felt myself skipping pages that I felt were unnecessary. Besides those things, the writer did well.
It's okay I think. Started reading the book and laid it down.Forgot I had bought the book on my reader.One thing I don't like is people trying to be a writers in there reviews and you know the hole story before you buy the book. Shame.!!!!!! Like most witch story ,read about 30 and all are about the same but still get 3 to 4 stars.Wish there was a better way of finding out about a book. Before you choose to but it. You don't have to read book 1 or 2 JUST READ THE REVIEWS !!!!!!!!! Thank You
